Lombok's cultural calendar follows Sasak, Balinese-Hindu and Islamic traditions: temple festivals, harvest rites, traditional music such as gendang beleq, stick-fighting performances and regency festivals. This page lists the upcoming cultural events and ceremonies we know about, with dates in Lombok time (WITA). Many ceremonies follow the lunar or Sasak calendar, so exact days are often confirmed late; those show as dates or "Time TBC" until the organiser announces them. Dress modestly at religious sites, ask before taking photos of ceremonies, and check the event page on the day.
Questions
What time zone are the event times in?
All times are Lombok time, WITA (UTC+8), the same as Bali. When an organiser hasn't confirmed a start time yet, we show "Time TBC".
Why do some ceremony dates change?
Many traditional ceremonies follow lunar or local calendars, and organisers confirm the exact day close to the date. We update the page when they do.
What should I wear to a ceremony?
Dress modestly, with shoulders and knees covered, especially at temples and mosques. Some temples ask visitors to wear a sash or sarong.
How do I know an event is still on?
We check the list every morning, but plans change. Use the source or ticket link on the event page and confirm with the organiser before you travel.
My event is missing. How do I add it?
Email marketing@lombokevents.com with a link and we'll add it, usually within 2 working days. Listing is free; you can also feature it on the Feature your event page.
